About Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-Wrinkle injections can be used to treat TMJ (temporomandibular joint). Here at Simplyteeth we believe that muscle relaxant treatment can help TMJ sufferers find relief.
How Does Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Work?
Anti-Wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles of mastication, these are the muscles which are in use when clenching, or grinding. Clenching or grinding is very common, with up to 85% of the population suffering from some sort of TMJ pain. It can be helped with a Nite Guard which could be made by your dentist, but a more common alternative approach these days is with Anti-Wrinkle injections.
Anti-Wrinkle injections relax the muscles and the effects are no pain and can last upto 4 months. It can also as a result help to reduce neck pain.
A dentist consultation is a necessity to assess the Jaw joint. The dentist will then decide with the patient whether muscle relaxant therapy is a good option. Anti-Wrinkle treatment will then be injected around the jaw joint area.
Normal activity can be resumed immediately after the treatment, but strenuous activity should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment. It may take several days to feel the full benefits of the treatment, but the injections will continue to work for up to 3-4 months.
