Why it’s important to get a dental check up every 6 months

1

Preventative Care

Regular dental checkups allow dentists to detect any potential oral health issues early on, preventing them from progressing into more serious problems. This includes detecting cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, and other dental issues.

2

Professional Cleaning

Even with regular brushing and flossing, plaque and tartar can build up on teeth over time. A professional cleaning during a dental checkup can remove this buildup, helping to prevent cavities and gum disease.

3

Early Detection of Oral Diseases

Some oral health issues, such as gum disease and oral cancer, may not cause noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Regular dental checkups allow dentists to detect these conditions early, when they are easier to treat and before they cause significant damage.

4

Maintaining Oral Hygiene Habits

Regular dental checkups provide an opportunity for dentists to reinforce good oral hygiene habits with patients. Dentists can provide personalized advice on brushing, flossing, and other aspects of oral care to help patients maintain optimal oral health between visits.

5

Monitoring Changes in Oral Health

Even with regular brushing and flossing, plaque and tartar can build up on teeth over time. A professional cleaning during a dental checkup can remove this buildup, helping to prevent cavities and gum disease.

6

Overall Health Connection

Oral health is closely linked to overall health, with research suggesting connections between oral health and conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory infections. Regular dental checkups can help to identify and address oral health issues that may contribute to these broader health concerns.

“Regular check-ups are essential for the overall health of your teeth and gums and for the maintenance of a healthy smile. It’s really important not to miss your check-up every 6 months.”

I have been going to the same dentist for the majority of my life and I have always been fearful of dentists. SimplyTeeth has changed my perspective since becoming a patient. The environment is very relaxing and doesn’t feel clinical walking into the reception. The staff are very friendly, Dani has been very helpful and has great customer service. My dentist Aman is amazing, and creates a calm environment. I found this dentist when driving past and I am happy I made the decision to sign up.
