How our Root Canal Treatment process works
If you require Root Canal Treatment for an injected or decayed tooth, then you need to get it treated quickly and efficiency before the problem escalates. Let us take you through the process now so you understand exactly what’s involved.

Initial check & diagnosis
We’ll get you in as quickly as possible to look at the problem and diagnose exactly what needs to be done in order to fix any issues that you currently have.

Temporary treatment and procedure
Initially, damaged and diseased pulp will be cleared away and the area cleaned and dryed, then we’ll close the opening in your tooth with a temporary filling, while you wait for the permanent crown.

Return visit to complete treatment
After a few weeks we’ll finish the treatment by placing a permanent crown or a similar type of restoration on the top of the tooth. Depending on the condition of your natural tooth, we may need to place a small supporting post inside of the root chamber, to make the crown or restoration more stable.
5 Stages of the Root Canal Treatment
Anaesthetic
First, a local anaesthetic is administered to ensure no discomfort during treatment.
Drilling
The tooth is prepared with a drill, allowing access to the root canal system.
Cleaning
The root canal system will be thoroughly cleaned out to remove all infection and pulp.
Temp. Sealing
The root canal system is then filled and sealed temporarily with a crown.
Perm. filled
The tooth is checked at a later visit and when all the infection has cleared, the tooth is permanently filled.

What are the dangers of not having the treatment when you need it?
If the problem is not remedied in time, you could lose teeth that are close to the original source. But, you may have been more severe issues than noticeable tooth decay, or tooth loss.
Once tooth infection begins to spread, it can travel to other area s in your body, wreaking havoc. In some cases, an abscessed root canal has led to brain damage or even death.
